Over the years, we have volunteered for dozens of organizations, such as Siloam Mission, Canadian Blood Services, Boys and Girls Club of Winnipeg, Newcomers Employment and Education Development Services (N.E.E.D.S.), Golden Future South Africa, and others. Providing a service to our campus, as well as our local and global community, is of utmost importance to us. In 2015-16, we, again, attained the Gold Standard and also the highest distinction of all-the Key Chapter Award-which was achieved by only 25 chapters worldwide, four of which were Canadian Chapters, and we are pleased to be one of the four. We achieved the Silver Standard for the 2013-2014 academic year and the Gold Standard for 2014-2015. The UW-GK Chapter currently has over 500 student members and ten honorary members, among them representatives from The University of Winnipeg administration at various levels and faculty, as well as outstanding community members, all whom have been committed to the advancement and support of students.Įvery year since our inception, the UW-GK Chapter has been recognized internationally as a top-performing Chapter in upholding the three pillars of Golden Key: Academics, Leadership, and Service. As a Chapter of The Golden Key International Honour Society, the largest collegiate honour society in the world with over 400 chapters, we offer valuable services to the UW student body and the local community. The University of Winnipeg Golden Key Chapter has just begun its fifth year of operation on the UW campus.
